- Malicious Behavior:
- • Griefing, cheating through exploitation, ban evasion, RDM (random deathmatch), metagaming, and metacomming (coordinating actions via voice or private messages) are bannable offenses if done repeatedly or in a severe enough instance.
• Keep all IC content strictly in-character, and all OOC discussions out-of-character. Please wait until after the round end screen to talk about the round.
• This is an English-speaking server. For quality control, leadership and law enforcement roles require basic fluency. Players with immersion-breaking English may be limited to less central roles until their communication improves.
• Gehenna is an adult only server. All characters must be 18+ and All players must be honest about their age (18+ only). Falsely claiming to be of legal age when you are underage is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught lying about their age will face immediate removal from the server.
- Character Expectations
- • Gehenna is set in the World of Darkness. Characters should fit the setting and stay grounded in its lore. Rare or exceptional concepts are allowed, but no all-powerful ashtrays. Play only what your character would realistically know based on their experience. All characters must have mechanical support; for lore-based exceptions (alternate Disciplines for offshoot bloodlines or Garou types), ask an admin on the Discord.
• Cross-round Blood Bond persistence is only allowed if both players OOCly consent.
- Memory & Death Rules
- • Don’t use info from past lives or while dead. Living splats (Mortals, Ghouls, Garou, etc.) revive with amnesia and don’t remember their death—exceptions include Torpor, “Little Death,” and similar cases.
• The server uses a persistence-based approach, allowing situations/events, and motivations to carry over between rounds. Positive/Neutral outcomes are kept, while inconsistencies and major disruptions are discarded (unless decided by the player OOC'ly). Full societal collapses (e.g., Masquerade breaches, military intervention) are for the most part non-canon.
- Faction Rules
- • Your character’s faction is set at creation and cannot be changed freely. If you defect, you’re considered previously escalated by your former faction for that round only. In future rounds, standard escalation applies.
• Kindred can't join septs or hives, and Garou can't join Kindred factions—but they may work together in rare cases (e.g., a Kindred employed by Endron). Black Spiral Dancers can never rejoin the Garou Nation.
- Combat Escalation
- • Combat must escalate logically and in-character. To escalate, first clearly show your intent to fight or make a demand. Combat begins when the other party performs any mechanical action (e.g., moving, using a radio, pulling out a weapon), unless it’s part of your demand. Escalation continues until one party is dead or incapacitated and can last the whole round.
• If a player refuses to engage after you’ve followed and repeatedly tried to get their attention, you may start combat without explicitly stating your intent.
• Most conflicts should end when someone is critically injured or incapacitated, not killed by default. That said, conflict and death are part of roleplay. Characters will clash, and sometimes they die. Don’t take it personally—treat it as an opportunity to tell a better story.
• During a Blood Hunt, the target is considered to have already been escalated against. They may freely escalate against any party they believe has hostile intent. However, being the target of a Blood Hunt does not grant permission to kill indiscriminately.
- Disciplines
- • Cainites can learn disciplines through proper roleplay—no quick trades. It should make IC sense and be earned through meaningful interaction.
• A kindred may have a max of 5 total disciplines with a maximum of two rare disciplines, (This includes Caitiffs) the breakdown of this can be: 3 common disciplines + 2 rare disciplines or 4 common disciplines + 1 rare discipline or 5 common disciplines.
- Rare Disiplines: Quietus, Vicissitude, Temporis, Protean, Serpentis, Dementation, Daimonion, Obtenebration, Thaumaturgy, Necromancy, Visceratika, Melpominee.
- Common Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence, Dominate, Fortitude, Potence, Animalism, Obfuscate.
- Erotic Roleplay Rules
- • Erotic Roleplay (ERP) is allowed on Gehenna, but must be handled responsibly. OOC notes and LOOC requests must be respected regarding ERP.
• There are no safeguards and ERP may be interrupted at any time.
• ERP involving animals or animal forms is strictly forbidden, basically if it stands on four legs don't touch it.
